Brokeback Mountain Leads the Oscars!

The great thing is that Jake Gylenhall got a nod for best supporting actor, I thought he was snubbed in the Globes. Wouldn't that be cool if it actually won best picture? As a gay man that would be a proud day!
Here is what the movie has been nominated for:
BEST PICTURE "Brokeback Mountain"
BEST DIRECTOR Ang Lee, "Brokeback Mountain"
BEST ACTOR Heath Ledger, "Brokeback Mountain"
BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR Jake Gyllenhaal, "Brokeback Mountain"
BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS Michelle Williams, "Brokeback Mountain"
BEST ADAPTED SCREENPLAY "Brokeback Mountain," Screenplay by Larry McMurtry and Diana Ossana
BEST ORIGINAL SCORE Gustavo Santaolalla "Brokeback Mountain"
BEST IN CINEMATOGRAPHY Rodrigo Prieto "Brokeback Mountain"

In any case I found this video (I love youtube.com) and it's pretty cool. Music set to scenes from the film.
Enjoy!

More behind the scenes of Dieux Du Stade...

...here's another video for everyone to enjoy. I have yet to go online and try to purchase the DVD for the "Gods of the Stadium" but it's on my list of things to do. I also need to dig up some more Joseph Sayers photo's been awhile since I've blogged him. Speaking of doing things, tonight I'm going to the North American Sheepdog Trials here at the Stock Show which is going on this week. That should be interesting. I wasn't even sure they had competitions for that type of event. In any case I'm going to check it out and see what the local hoopla is all about. I was telling my friend via email about the weekend I had and she asked why I am not blogging it? I didn't think it was anything interesting but she seemed to think so, so here ya go: Well I met this dude at The Rail who did everything he could, to get into my pants. The Rail is a straight gay friendly bar btw. Now granted after being "with out" for so long, one would think it's not difficult to get in my pants, but he was just so arrogant and cocky I had to "tease" him the whole night. We ended up at an after hours party together, and then I finally just walked home after that (it was basically across the street from where I lived). He never did get any, but he was actually a most interesting person. Very smart, considers himself "straight" but believes a man knows what a man want's in bed. *sigh* why do I always attract those? I can't remember when I was actually hit on by a GAY guy. In any case, I had actually seen him at a house party last week (that's where he remembered me from when he approached me in the bar) and at that time he was in the back room with another guy doing their version of Fight Club. *sigh, again* I asked him if that was his "thing" ya know, the pain and all that and he said no he was just having fun. That was the same night that I saw a guy put a saftey pin through his penis (the skin part), a cutter-who cut his forearms and just like bled all over...eww! and a giant of a man who was quiet and just watched everybody, all at the same party. I'm so ready to come home. I'm to old for this crap. I got home 5 a.m. sunday morning!! Needless to say I was not very productive yesterday. The weekend before was the circus party (that's what we call it now because it was kind of like a circus) all in all they are very nice people and I'm just getting to know them, so I guess I allow for some ahem things to just not affect me to much, but the cutter...now that was just gross. He needs to carry papertowels to wipe up after himself!! Yuck!
Ok here's another Dieux Du Stade Video, a behind the scenes look. They are just to beautiful! Until later. Enjoy!

And... I'm back...

...California was fun and I had a great time. We drove back straight thru in 24 hours so I was pretty much exhausted by the time we got back. While I was out there I saw Brokeback Mountain, this is one of the best films I have ever seen. The characters really stay with you after you leave the theater. When I got back home, I was mildly surprised to see it was playing here! Yes Brokeback Mountain is playing in Rapid City, SD. Not only that, but it was practically sold out! I have to say I'm impressed. Nobody made any negative remarks or giggled in the love scenes. It was mostly an older crowd (definitely straight) and some people even brought their kids. Wow.
Needless to say, it's a great film. It has won 4 Golden Globes, was Number 5 in ticket sales last week and is an Oscar contender. Kind of gives you a warm and fuzzy feeling when a "gay" movie hit's all those benchmarks. It's an Ang Lee film so it's wonderfully directed and beautifully shot, it's an epic...a classic. I'll probably see it one more time, and of course buy the DVD. If you haven't seen it yet, you should. It's tragic, it's inspiring and it's about the relationships and love we all feel and go through each day. So with out further ado, here is the Brokeback Mountain Trailer to help you decide... ;-)

One more day...

....then I'm off to CA for vacation. I'm looking forward to it, although my Aunt (who is driving with me) was quite ominous when I asked if she was packed and ready to go, she said she wasn't sure. Well I'm ok either way, if we don't go then I save money and I can go shopping and if we do go...well that will be fun also. Work is crazy busy today (hence blogging at 5pm again). I'm excited though, I have a few projects that I'm working on and I "own" them so I'm extremely more comfortable with that. Not that I don't like to share, but when working on something from beginning to end I like to follow the process through. Well I was going to go home and pack tonight but now, not really sure if I should. Not to much else going on (my blog is sooo boring) on the other hand, at least there's no drama. So with that, here's another Diuex Du Stade video, also a trailer for the "making of" the French Rugby Team. Enjoy!

I love this song BTW!!

A message from Lee Andrew...

...in posting the video for the "making of" calendar yesterday I was so excited that the photographer himself emailed me to enlighten me on the true endeavors of this project: Thanks for posting the information about the "Angeli del rugby MMVI" calendar... I have added your post to the list of top international bloggers, news journalist worldwide. Please consider making a correction and posting the facts about this unique production... it is not like the French version --
This national team is made up entirely of profesional firemen and the majority of profits benefit Hurricane Katrina victims...

There really isn't a comparasion betweenthe two calendars -- this is not a commercial endeavor it is an art endeavor limited to only 3 000 to aide my native Mississppi hometown and New Orleans as the people attempt to rebuild their lives....

Again, thanks, much appreciation from Rome,

LeeAndrew GIABENELLI

He also had this press release available:
FOR IMMEDIATE PRESS RELEASE

Rome Italy- The National Italian Rugby Team composed entirely of firefighters bare all for chairty to help raise money for the USA hurricane Katrina relief stateside, chiefly of the Mississippi Delta region where the photographer Lee Andrew Giabenelli was born.. The champion professional firefighters and ruby players won their divisional gold medal this past July in Quebec, Canada deafeating Australia. The anticipated debut premiere of the teams calendar has taken the city of Rome and the Internet by storm. The Italian fire chiefs are not thrilled about the exploits of the team and have forbidden participation in promoting the calendar in Italy by the teams members. This Italian national rugby team are champions on the field and heroes as first responders in these times that we live.

What a wonderful charity! Mr. Gianbenelli is right, there really is no comparison between the calendars ;-)
and with that...a couple more pics from the Angeli del Rugby calendar!

I love the cover!

Angeli del Rugby...

...this is also a rugby team who decided to do a calendar for charity. They are the Italian Rugby Team...all firefighters. Not sure what this means (ignorant American on rugby) but they won a gold something or other in Quebec last year. So kudos to them...enjoy the video and let me know whom you think is hotter, I'm going for the French Rugby Team myself. :-)

Dieux du Stade-Calendar Video

Found this video of Dieux du Stade photo shoot, just gorgeous! I was under the assumption it was just French Rugby Players but I think it's more a compilation of French Atheltes, but mostly the rugby players. Enjoy.

TGIF!!

Been a short week but feels like a long month! So this time next week I will be on the road with my aunt on our way to California. I wasn't really looking forward to it but now I'm kind of getting excited to see my friends and family. Absolutely nothing going on around here. I signed up for classes for this semester but will probably end up dropping at least two. I think I may keep my literature class, that type of class is usually an easy one for me. Miss Mantoan did this list of like 27 things she wanted to do this year (like go to china and learn a different knitting stitch). I was almost inspired to do the same, almost. This year I want to work on my credit, that's what I want to work on. I'd like to travel somewhere also, I'm thinking Canada. Well that's all I have today, I need to get my work day started and get this weekend over with, so I can hit the road next week! Here are some more of the French Rugby Players from Dieux Du Stade. I gotta get the calendars and the "making of" DVD's! I swear they look more like models than football players! Enjoy.

Finally 2006 is here!

The holidays are over, back to school, back to work back to normalcy...well at least for me anyways. My holidays were totally uneventful, unless you count the New Years Eve stripper that I swear followed us from bar to bar New Years Eve. Finally at St. Joes Pub he was on the pool table when we walked in doing a strip teas and was down to his boxers. The lady next to me was like "he's not really going to do it is he?" Well considering I've already seen him naked twice that night, I really should have put some money on it. My friend Tatum got tipsy and when that happens, watch out all men with in a 20 foot radius! She ended up kissing the bouncer, which was ok because he was FINE! Tall man, looked like he just got out of prison with huge arms covered wtih Tats...oh yeah. All in all, it was an ok New Years. I registered for classes again this semester but I'll be missing the first week as I'm going back to Cali for a week! Hoping to see Brokeback Mountain while I'm there! Here are some pics of a man that just seems like he was put together by Abercrombie & Fitch Scientists!! He's Brazilian Model Rafael Verga !!

It's just not natural to be so perfect!!
