Amanda Knox

I faintly remember reading about this murder a couple years ago. In reading the article about her conviction, I have to say I wouldn't have the strongest confidence in the Italian legal system. The prosecution's case seemed vague this statement makes me uneasy when it was brought up that there was no motive for the murder:

However, prosecutor Manuela Comodi said violent crimes can lack a motive. "We live at a time where violence is purposeless," she told the jury.

Really?

I thought the purpose was prove there was a motive, which they didn't do. I think it's just the fact she is an American.

PERUGIA, Italy – A jury in Italy convicted American college student Amanda Knox of murdering her British roommate and sentenced her to 26 years in prison shortly after midnight Saturday.

Her Italian ex-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito was also convicted and sentenced to 25 years.

As soon as the judge read the verdict after some 13 hours of deliberations, Knox began weeping and murmured, "No, no," then hugged one of her lawyers.
