Today was just a weird day all around. Work was hectic, and then super slow, and then super hectic. When you're the "IT guy" you meet so many different personalities and they are all looking for you to "fix it" so they can continue working. Well sometimes you can't, you need to order a part; uninstall, reinstall software, or the machine is just dead. So today was def a "can't, not right now" day. LOL I did my best though, and no one was too upset.

Was at our downtown office today, got to visit with my girls. They are 3 hilarious people! We all get along so great, our wit, humor, work ethic, line up perfectly. We work our butts off! Well I told K that her shoes look like old woman orthopedic shoes, 'cause they do. Her quick retort was "Your pants look like 10 yr. old boy jeans!" LMAO! What? Then when I told her to stop bullying me, one of the girls said that my pants are nice and fit me well, not to tight. To which K then said "Oh he has tighter pants, you can see his junk." LOL! I was mortified, but I totally know which pair of pants she was talking about. Haha!

 Had a talk with another tech recruiter who seemed really happy to be working with me. So I'm optimistic change will be happening soon on the work front. I like what I do, and for the most part who I work with, but feel I'm at a wall in what I can learn. I want to learn more.

I'm a horrible blogger! Sorry, it's been awhile I know! I'll catch you up real quick, but first...no more DOMA; and Prop 8 was overturned! As a person who lives in California, I always felt that we should have been one of the first states to approve gay marriage. But then again we did elect the Terminator as our Governor. For the record, I was living out of state when that happened! lol While I'm looking for a job, I am also studying for my MCITP. Let me tell you getting back into studying mode, after almost a year after graduating, my head hurts. Haha, but I'm slowly comprehending everything again. I'm excited to get back into tech stuff. Speaking of, I got an internship! I figure while I'm off and job searching, I'll do a part time internship to get some hands on IT experience. I'm the new IT guy for a non-profit that helps veteran with PTSD. I could have applied at a big name tech company, but I wanted a non-profit, kind like giving back to the community. So I start next Monday, and I'm very excited. I have 4 days to read my Active Directory text book from cover to cover! LOL It's not that big of a book. TheIT guy did ask me if I was familiar with it, and when I told him I'm actually studying for the cert, he said it was exactly what he wanted to hear. :) Um, let's see what else, that's about it. Oh I went to traffic court for a speeding ticket I got back in March. I couldn't afford the ticket, so the judge put me on a payment plan, so that was good news! OOOOHHH! And I got another Samsung Galaxy S3! Remember how I got one back in Dec. and then dropped it a week later, and it wasn't insured. Yes, ugh! Well I got a really good deal, so I got the phone a couple days ago. I love it! I could have got the S4, but the extra perks, weren't worth the money. It was mostly web surfing tools, but I don't usually surf the web on my phone. So that's it, hope everyone is well, and I'll try and post more often! ;) peace

Been a few days, my bad. But guess what? I'll have plenty of time to blog starting next week! My last day is Monday! LOL And noooo I didn't get a new job, the car rental rates will triple as of 5/22 on the weekends (summer time); so I won't be able to afford to get to work anymore. Public transportation is not an option because of the days and hours. I'm actually okay with it tho. I did a lot for little pay, I put in a lot of hours in 4 days, and it was just a very unprofessional environment. I have nothing to show for the past 8 months. I just didn't make any money with the car rental, bills, and low pay. LOL Nothing! I figure I can go work up the street in a retail place and be able to put some money away for a car. Plus I can study for my certs. So we shall see, I'm not upset about it, excited for the next chapter in my life. :)

I went down to my mom's yesterday (kept the rental an extra day) and she took me to lunch, and loaded me up with groceries, and gave me some gas money. Haha. It was a nice day. She's like a food bank, whenever one of her kids go to visit she goes through her cupboards and starts filling bags for us. LOL It helps though, saves me money! That's about all I have. I'm a little nervous about the future but I'm going to try and pay my rent for next month, so at least I won't have to worry about that. Oh, I cleaned out my storage yesterday (reason I went to my mom's) and I feel so relieved now. I was always worried about losing my stuff, because I was always late on the payment, but the other night my mom told me to bring the stuff over to my parent's place. So I did, and I got rid of some things, and I also found some things I forgot I had! LOL So it was all good. Should have thought about that a long time ago. Had that storage for like almost 5 years! My parents have a small place though so I never thought of it, but they made room.

Tomorrow is my Sunday, going to cook my meals for my work week which starts on Friday, and then I'm done! Haha. Hope I find something soon, but I feel like everything is happening the way it's supposed to be. Hope you all are well. ;) peace

Where do I start? Hmmm, well I had my interview yesterday for the job where my friend works. It went well, but at the end he thought I was over qualified (which I so am), but I really tried to sell myself, stating that someone with my experience and knowledge, he's getting a deal. The job doesn't pay much, but it's perm. He said he'll let me know by Monday. The owner is hot btw, that could prove to be a distraction. :D I like the job I have now, but it's temp with "promises" to go perm, but when? It's been six months already.

There's a clerk at a local convenience store near where I work that flirts me with so hard! He's so hot! The other day he had me feel his bicep! LOL I so did! Nothing will come of it, but I do enjoy the attention.

Jeremy fricking died on The Vampire Diaries...Jeremy!! I was so traumatized, still kind of reeling from the shock. How could they do that? I guess it's so Elena's storyline will go darker, or whatever, but he was fine, yo! I hope he get's another TV show, or movie deal, soon. Steven R. Mcqueen.

I eat a lot, like a lot, a lot. So people at work always give me hard time about it. LOL But in a good way, because I don't put on a pound (I weigh 137, never changes). Not sure why I bring this up, I think because it's kind of spreading through the whole building now. Haha.

My rental car this work week (F-M) is a Ford Fusion. It's nice! They had me in a Yaris, but like the most basic Yaris you could get. I had to upgrade. The Fusion is a nice solid car, has all the bells and whistles that I like. Techy stuffy. :)

Hmmm, okay.. I think that's it. For those new to my blog, Hodgepodge is exactly that, just a collection of different things (subjects). So I try to make the pics match my post, kind of random. Hope you are all enjoying your  weekend! Tomorrow is my Thursday. ;) peace

Where to start? Well, I dropped my phone on the bus tonight and the screen shattered. It's supposed to be Gorilla Glass! So I am very sad my Samsung Galaxy S3 is hurt. I'm taking it in tomorrow to the repair shop. Sprint hooks me up pretty good though. I'm sure my phone will be fine. I did order a case, but since it's the Holiday season, it won't be here until the 27th! Happy frigging Holidays to you and yours. Haha. I'm going to rent a car this weekend because I don't have a ride home on Saturday from work. My friend Roy has plans, and he normally picks me up Sat. nite. Since I'll have the car for the weekend (hopefully) I'm going to try and work Sunday so I'll get some OT in. Will be good for the pay check. When I told my mom tonight that my screen was cracked, she said "that's why I stay with monkey glass." *sigh* rezparents. Haha. She actually just got an Android phone a few weeks ago. I get like 4 texts a day starting with "how do I....?* OOMF on Twitter graduated tonight. I'm really happy for him. OOMF on Twitter has to deal with Baby Jesus like erry day! I feel bad for her, but I know she can handle it! OOMF on Twitter gave me big hugz today, I totally needed it because work was crazy. He also copped a feel, but that's just LJ. :p Today we had free food at work. Hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, a lot of good stuff! So I grazed all day AND ate the lunch I brought! Haha, so foodwise, I was happy. :) Still looking into buying a car, but the last salesman I talked to was called Big Rick. So um, maybe just look into renting for now. Jeeez! So my day started off bad, irritating, and annoying. Haha. Seriously I was just done by noon! My roomie took the day off to run an errand this morning, so that bummed me out. He of course sat in the condo all day afterwards. I have ONE day a week where I get the condo to myself, and it's Monday! *sigh* So I don't like to be here when he's here because it's a small place, not much privacy, and I feel stuck in my room. So I took off and hit the buses and trains, and ended up at Sac State where I caught up on some of my shows, applied for some jobs, enjoyed the eye candy (college dudes) and basically turned my day around.

This morning I also dealt with some people who annoy me, and I was just like...ugh, everyone leave me alone! Haha! Ever have one of those days? So I went off the grid, turned off my phone, gave Twitter the finger, and just had a chill afternoon. LOL

I applied for a waiter position that is close to home where I can walk to work and still have some me time, and probably make more money than I do now; not having to pay out for public transit fares. I like my job, and the people are okay, but 7a.m. to 9:30p.m. days are just too much for me. I get no time to get anything done. We'll see what happens with the waiter job. I just want to save up for a car, and get my MS Certs.

The gay property manager of the condo complex (yes I feel I must say that he's gay) haha, filled me in on the gossip today. I went to the clubhouse to download my shows, and he was like "Leo, where have you been? I haven't seen you in ages!" It was nice to catch up with him, he's going to give me a ride to work on Friday because his corporate office is in the same city I work, so that's cool. He also knows a guy who owns a car dealership, and may be able to get me a good deal, that's cool too.

 So I guess the point was, I was not meant to stay home and watch my shows today; like I normally do on Mondays. That's okay, turned an icky morning, into a great day. Hope you all are well. Back to work tomorrow for me. ;) peace

So today was my 2nd day on my new job. Totally not what I thought I was going to be doing, but I really like it! I'm a dispatcher for a grocery store distribution company! Haha! I love it, I route truckers and trucks all day. You may think they are one and the same but no, I have to dispatch and route different TYPES of trucks; like a reefer. Haha, a refrigerated truck, oh yeah... I'm learning the lingo. :)

The people I work with are funny, and it seems like a close family. I've impressed the truckers by putting out fires for them, and making their drop offs and pick ups a little easier. The cool thing is, they have to go where I say. Haha. I'm still nice to them though, and I try to accommodate them as best as I can. Some guys don't like certain routes, so I take that into consideration. It's a long day though. 5 hours on the buses and trains, I start my day at 6 a.m. and I'm home around 9:30 p.m., exhausted. So this blog post is really a triumph for me because I'm hecka sleepy! But I wanted to touch base with y'all. :)

The thing is, no hot truckers! LOL I thought I would like get some eye candy, but no, and I'm okay with that. Easier to learn while I'm in training. I've really picked it up though, they left me at the dispatch desk alone on my first day. :) Today a couple of the truckers told my boss how great I was, and how I really helped them out, so I was very happy with that. It's a different environment that's for sure, a bit crude, but hey...they are truckers. The only draw back is the commute, but hopefully I can save for a car, it doesn't pay much, but I'm hoping I can get something in a few weeks. Then it would be the perfect shift, 10-6:30, I can study for my certs in the morning, and get home in time to DL my shows, which I can't do now. It's a tiring day, 5 buses and 2 trains total in my commute.

On the last leg of my journey home, the mile I have to walk from the bus stop to where I live, I felt a bit down. I felt very tired, and kind of dejected, but I'm also very grateful to have a job. A cool job, with nice people, so that makes me feel better. I'll get used to the routine soon, I know I will. For now I have no time for myself, or much of anything else, wake up, go to work, come home, go to bed, and do it all over again. It's all good though. I have a great boss, cool people to work with, and the truckers make me laugh because they are all so different! From grumpy to being a total optimistic, which I like because I try to be that also.

So much to do today, and I'm getting a late start because of my obsession with the movie Thor. LOL Chris Hemsworth. He really is a god!

I have Cisco homework to catch up on, and I also need to switch the hard drives in my laptops out. Which means I need to do a clean install of a new OS on both, since the chipsets are different in each machine. That means I can't basically just swap them out and bring up Windows. I think on one lappy I'm going to install Windows server and actually make it a sever, then network my other lappy to it, great way to get experience in administration, and I can do my labs all over again in RL and not in a virtual.

My "straight" friend has been drunk texting me lately, and last night he basically asked me out on a date. LOL Of course I haven't heard from him today because I'm sure once he woke up this morning he felt really embarrassed. For the record, he is a very nice guy, but definitely not my type.

Hayden is still just a bundle of sunshine and good energy, I adore him! He's the guy I kinda crushed on at school, and we have this chemistry. Now I think I'd rather be friends, heck I don't even know if he's gay or not. Doesn't matter,just a really good person.

My bro is getting me the Samsung Epic for my birthday! So excited, it's a nice phone. I had to take mine in again because of the screen. So they are ordering a new screen for it which should come in this week. Yay! I'll get to see my brother tomorrow as he's down visiting my parents. Will be nice to see him.

I think that's about everything, still job searching, but I think I found some good leads and some good technical recruiters, so who knows? I'm ready to go back to work, it's been 3 years! Can you believe that? Well in this economy it's not impossible to believe. Hope you all have a great week! ;) peace

Okay, yes it's been awhile. Let's catch up! First: My lappy with all my blog pics on it is back up and running! Yay, Huey! Hewlett-Packard lappy. Linux officially hates me, but it's no longer on my machine, so I don't care! It's what killed Huey in the first place. Second: Went out for beers last night with Hottie, had a good time. Been awhile since I have went out. We went to a dive bar close to school, and just chilled and watched ESPN. Oh how I miss watching sports. He didn't annoy me (sure it was the beer), and was all around a laid back evening being out. Good times. Third: I hate Stats. New class. Fourth: I love Cisco. New class. Networking. Fifth: Met a guy at school named Hayden. My new crush, we flirt big time. Sixth: My straight friend who gives me a ride to school, kind of came out to me last night. Kind of. Seventh: Still no car, no job, and unemployment ends next week. Not worried, this is what faith looks like. It will work out. ;) peace

Was a long day, most of it spent on buses and trains to and from campus. Takes a couple hours, but I don't mind. I had one guy on the bus hit on me, and I was like not into it because I was sleepy and cranky! Haha, I had to shut him down, but for the record I politely shut him down before I had to ghetto shut him down!

I ran into Hottie on campus, had a good visit. He's looking even hotter, he's filling out, seems taller too. Still an arrogant butt head, but didn't annoy me too bad.

My workout friend lost his job, so it looks like we are back to working out! Yay! I'll stick to the schedule this time. :) Hope you enjoy your Friday. ;) peace
