Songs of Sunday

This is so fitting! I am so grateful that I had my brother to come and stay with when my unemployment ran out and I could no longer afford my hotel rooms in California. It's been a great and relaxing month and a half up here and him and I have had so much fun, it was great to spend time with him.

On that note, unemployment has kicked back in, possible job opportunity this week...and most of the bad weather has left Cali. Brookings is a great little community, and I really enjoyed (needed) that small town feeling. I didn't realize some of the situations I have endured in the past 3 years had taken such a toll on me mentally and emotionally. I feel stronger, I needed the laid back lifestyle that Brookings has provided me. The days at the beach, laughing and joking with my bro, doing "normal" things like laundry, dishes, cooking, cleaning...things I've missed since I've been in a hotel. You wouldn't think you would miss those things until you haven't done them in almost two years. Knowing where I will be laying my head each night and waking up knowing where I am, and not wondering what city...what hotel am I at again? Not having to pack and unpack each week or couple weeks, pulling my clothes off their hangers in my closet...golden! lol In any case, if I'm ever to have my own place and do these tasks that I think some people may take for granted, I need to find a job. So I'm ready to go back and start the search again from Sacramento to the Bay Area and everywhere in between. Priceline will once again make a lot of money off me. ;)

I think my brother would like me stay up here or even get a job and live up here, but um I'm not really Brookings, OR material. I'm definitely Cali, Nor Cal at that!! So my song for Sunday is More Bounce in California, Soul Kid 1. Because that's how we roll! ;) peace

Will Forte

The Olympics don't have a late night tonight. :( Withdrawal time! So SNL with Jennifer Lopez is on. I like SNL but I've noticed that in the past few years there have been some hotties on the show! Like Will Forte, he's a hottie and they make him look so dorkish in his sketches but IRL (please tell me that's a real acronym for In Real Life)he's a hottie!! I've always kinda crushed on him, he has some good shirtless pics also. Check out his chest! Enjoy! ;) peace

Sunchips

I just saw this commercial for Sunchips compostable bags, I think that is a great idea!! Who doesn't love Sunchips? I also found out they have a plant in Modesto, CA. My old stomping grounds. ;) peace

Gander, Newfoundland

So I'm watching the Olympics on NBC and Tom Brokaw just came on and started this documentary about Gander, Newfoundland. I thought it was going to be like a 5 min documentary but turns out it's a full blown hour long documentary.

"On September 11, 2001, 39 heavy aircraft were diverted to Gander International Airport when airspace was closed in the United States because of tragic terrorist hijackings. Runway 13/31 was converted to a temporary aircraft parking ramp. The airport terminal was turned into an aid centre as food and clothing was distributed to stranded passengers. The airport and its surrounding community afterwards received high praise for their response to the tragedy."

What a great story and the people of Gander, Newfoundland...thank you on behalf of America! Talk about a story falling through the cracks, I never knew all those planes were diverted to Gander and that American air space was shut down for the first time...ever. I realize at the time we had other things on our mind as a nation but I'm so glad Gander, Newfoundland got the praise and recognition they justly deserved.

You can read the story from Gander's Airport's website.

Gander was a town of 10,000 and they helped out and accommodated almost 7,000 people...that is just amazing to me. They provided home cooked meals, clothes (the passengers weren't allowed to take their luggage off the planes) and compassion. The people of Gander give me new faith in human kind, absolutely wonderful. ;) peace

Scott Brown

So Senator Scott Brown posed in Cosmo and was voted like, I dunno, the hottest guy in America or something. Like I've said before, this blog is NOT one for current news, but more just for what grabs my eye. He did and yes I know this is old news. Here is a skit from SNL where they use Jon Hamm to play Scott Brown as a hunky new lost senator. Um, I like Jon Hamm! Enjoy! ;) peace

Valentine's Day

So I just got done watching Valentine's Day and it was actually really cute, I felt all the stories tied in well with each other (ensemble cast) and just when I thought gay people were represented on Valentine's Day, we were..and were we represented well!! SPOILER: The ending, will make you cry, no the last scene which includes Julia Roberts will make you cry. Not expecting it at all! Okay spoiler over. Was that a spoiler?? lol I never like writing about a movie I've seen just in case someone hasn't seen it.
In any cast two of the hot stars Bradley Cooper and Eric Dane had some great lines and some great scenes. Carter Jenkins though? OMG, he gets his own post. ;) peace

Summer will be here soon!

Olympic Hotties

Curling, WTF? I actually watched it for hours tonight though and it's a tough sport. I watched because of Chris Plys, such a hottie for a nerdy sport! Also I needed to post JR Celski, another hottie who is short a track skater. Hope you are enjoying the 2010 Vancouver Olympics!! Enjoy! ;)peace

My brother got a Bowflex!

So my bro bought a Bowflex Extreme machine today and put it in the garage. I was very excited because, while I'm not a work out enthusiast, I've always wanted to try a work out on a Bowflex. Okay, now not so much, I just found out he has rats in the garage!! Gross! Granted these are wild rats not house rats and they seem pretty much nocturnal, at least the one I have seen has been at night, and who knows there may just be one. I don't think I can work out knowing there is a rat in the same space with me. *shudder*
Oh well I'll just keep doing my sit ups in my room and using my dumbbells I brought with me. Speaking of sit ups... Enjoy! ;) peace

Ahhh...

Nothing like slinging your bag over your shoulder for the first time of the season!!

Songs of Sunday

Siouxsie and the Banshees Dear Prudence. I honestly did not know this was a cover until way into the 90's, this was recorded in early 80's. I was never much of a Beatles fan, I guess. Now I know. ;) peace

Gorgeous Weather Today

Was a great day to be outside today here in Oregon! A quick vid of the weather, well actually I was in Crescent City, CA when I vid this...but close to Brookings, OR. ;) peace

Favorite Jeans

It's finally a gorgeous day here in Oregon and I took some video that I'll post later of the wonderful weather. When I woke up this morning and looked outside and saw the blue skies, I got so excited! Now normally I would throw on cargo shorts on a day like today but I thought of my favorite jeans hanging in the closet and knew I wanted to wear those. Yes, I have too much time on my hands, yes I am a dork to be blogging my fave jeans and even more of a dork for lamely trying to video me in my favorite jeans! Well, I had just woken up and was thankful for the nice day and well, hell, the video was made so I might as well post it. There are so many things that make life wonderful that even an article of clothing can make your day. I guess that's the message I was trying to convey here, but in reviewing the video later...um...not sure what the message coming across is. Enjoy your day! ;) peace

Beautiful

When admiring beauty, there should be few words...just enjoy. ;) peace

Logan Lerman

Last night I saw Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief and was mildly entertained. There were some hokey parts but all in all it was a good film. I also bought the book but have yet to read it. Now I'm kind of wondering what's the point? In any case Logan Lerman is someone to keep your eye on, he's a lil hottie who I just realized also acted in Gamer and 3:10 to Yuma. The opening sequence is my favorite part of the movie, he's got nice legs and when he shoots up to the surface...wow!

Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief

Gamer

Really?

Tiger Woods is such a tool!!! OMG! Just go boink a waitress and shut the
F
K
up!! I got like 3 mins into his "apology" and couldn't stomach it any longer. It's so scripted and he doesn't even sound sincere, who know maybe he breaks down and cries at the end. It's bad acting at it's best. I'm not going to put Tiger Wood's apology on my blog but click the link up top if you want to see it, please feel free to leave me a comment on what YOU think. Now back to preparing my next hot guy post. ;) peace
