Songs of Sunday

OneRepublic - Counting Stars. So I rented a car this past weekend, I turn it in on Tuesday. So that meant, I got to listen to the radio, and I love this song! If you listen carefully, you can hear some music from Hung Up by Madonna in there. :) I'll post a life update soon, but I'm doing well. Still loving my job. ;) peace

And Hung Up - Madonna Do you hear it?

Songs of Sunday.

Kazaky - Crazy Law. You may remember them from Madonna's Girl Gone Wild video, which even though it's a year old, is still one of my fave songs! Kazaky, in this video, remind me a bit of Depeche Mode. So this will be a true SONGS of Sunday and I'll post more than one song. LOL I'm not even sure how I came up with that title.

Everything is going good at the internship, they actually have put me in charge of IT, and I need to "hire" 2 more interns this coming week. I'm still looking for a job though. If this non-profit gets the funding it's applying for, they will hire me first. So that's a good feeling, but who knows when that will happen. Today I also volunteered at the charity bingo that we (the non-profit) will be taking over in about 6 weeks. On my feet for 5 hours running around the floor selling bingo games, is exhausting! LOL And I walk a couple miles every day! All in all though, I enjoy it, and there are usually one or two somewhat good looking guys. It's mostly old ladies though! Haha. Today there was a cute guy, that I chatted with. Maybe he'll be a regular player. :)

Hope you all have a good week! More job searching for me, and possibly more studying. It seems they are doing away with the MCITP title, which is what I was studying for. Need to reach out to my alma mater's IT director and ask what I should be doing now. Enjoy! ;) peace

Depeche Mode - Personal Jesus one of my faves.

Remember when Madonna was in her "country" moment? LOL Still the Queen tho. :)

Songs of Sunday

It has been forever since I posted a Songs of Sunday post! Haha. I keep forgetting. Well to make it a true Songs of Sunday, here are some Madonna remixes of Girl Gone Wild which I really like. Which is your fave? I'm leaning towards the Offer Nissim mix, 2nd vid. Hope you had a great weekend, I'm excited to see what the coming week has in store for me. ;) peace

Songs of Sunday

Gang Bang - Madonna from her MDNA album What a great fanvid for this song! Of course I'll post the original when it comes out, but for now enjoy these clips from some of Madonna's other videos, how many can you name? I think there were 3 used. I love the beat of this song, and you can tell she's very angry after her divorce from the lyrics.

Enjoy your week, new term starts this week for me. ;) peace

Songs of Sunday

Girl Gone Wild - Madonna. Of course you know this has to be my song for today. I finally got MDNA this past week, and it's all I've been listening to. I think Madonna really opens up to us in her music on this particular CD. I know she does in all her music, but I think it's more personal this time after her divorce. If you listen to the lyrics on some of the songs, so...heartfelt.

I love this video, so sexy! It's epic, it's creative, it's Madonna! Hope you all have a great week. ;) peace

Songs of Sunday

In preparation for Madonna's half-time show on the Super Bowl, I checked this video out earlier. Give Me All Your Luvin' by Madonna. I think I'm going to have to let this one grow on me, she's still The Queen though!! ;) peace

Madonna vs. Lady Gaga

Am I fan of Lady Gaga? Not really, but I do like her music...even though most of it sounds like Madonna's. I saw this clip tweeted today on Twitter and loved it!

Madonna on 20/20 regarding Lady Gaga

Now before you "kids" start yelling Gaga does so much for gay youth, yes she does. As did Madonna for my generation, and she didn't do it to make her career. So Lady Gaga is not a pioneer in that genre at all. I'm not saying Lady Gaga isn't creative, I'm just saying if it wasn't for Madonna, Lady Gaga may have been your server at IHOP.

So I'll let you decide, here are some videos of both their hits. I think Gaga's sounds like Madonna's.

Madonna - Express Yourself. This video is epic, compared to Born This Way, which pretty much just tries and proves Lady Gaga isn't a man.

Lady Gaga - Born This Way. Now this video wants you to think it's epic, but after the first 3mins you really want to tell her to STFU and sing. I do like the song though.

Madonna - La Isla Bonita.

Lady Gaga - Alejandro

Just saying.

;) peace

Songs of Sunday

So Lady Gaga had her song, Born This Way, come out this past week. I like the lyrics, it's kinda catchy. Although, like Alejandro, I hear a bit of Madonna in it. With Alejandro, I hear La Isla Bonita by Madonna in that song. Not going to start a Madonna vs. Gaga war, just saying...there would be no Gaga...with out Madonna. ;) peace

Madonna Express Yourself, kinda what I hear in Born This Way.

Songs of Sunday

I'm so tired! Played golf with my cousin today and we played until we couldn't see the ball! LOL! It was hot as hell though, so I'm tired, sticky and in need of a shower. So I needed a comforting song this evening. Madonna's Express Yourself. I like Lady Gaga's music and think she's doing a great thing for gay rights, but come on now, Mo was there back in the day for gays and helped us get an even bigger voice. Oh and while I agree Gaga should have won the VMA for Best Video of the Year for Bad Romance, Madonna's vids were EPIC! Back in the day! Shower time. ;) peace

Alejandro Parody

So this video I found over at Boyculture and thought it was hilarious!! It's a parody by Sherry Vine of Lady Gaga's Alejandro, only it's I'm a Homo or...maybe You're a Homo. In either case, it's hella funny and I like it much better than Lady Gaga's original Alejandro video (Madonna wanna be, okay won't go there). Enjoy! ;)

I'm a dinosaur and Madonna still rocks...

So it's been a minute since I last blogged and I apologize for that. Well this past Tuesday was my last day at Intel and now I feel kind of lost. It's their corporate culture and the way the position operated and it just kind of becomes a part of your everyday life...so I'm like going through withdrawals. :) The good kind though! So I've been down in Manteca visiting my parents and just relaxing and looking at houses down there with my cousin. Knowing that I'm moving in like 6 weeks I don't want to take on anything permanent or even anything where I have to work in an office. It was a lonely year at Intel, if you're a regular reader you know that my job was quite lonely because the team members I worked with were scattered globally so it was email and IM for me as far as interaction with people. Although I did get to see my manager every other week for 1:1, when she wasn't traveling that is.

Well now, I want to work with people and the public so I decided to get something maybe in retail or grocery. Just something so I have some money coming in and to keep busy while we look for a place and I can pack. Now it's been 20 years since I've done anything in the retail/blue collar world (except for my stint as a waiter two summers ago and that almost kicked my ass!)lol. So this morning I get up and put on a nice polo shirt and some dockers grab some printed resumes I had lying around and head to the local retail center down the street. I go into Wal-Mart first and...I'm sorry, I just can't do it. I don't know why but I just did not want to apply there. So I walk next door to PetSmart and thought..yeah, I like animals and this would be fun. I walk up to a young man who has a badge that says Team Lead under his name and I ask if they are accepting applications. He said yes and that I can go apply online. Online? Hmmm...okaaay. So I thanked him and walked next door to Staples, hey I know software and I definitely know office supplies since I've been sitting in some sort of office for the past 2 decades, I could do this! When I walked in this time there was a cute perky blonde female who asked me if she could help me find something. She couldn't have been more than 17 if not 16, what is the limit these days on kids working? In any case I asked for an application and she just kind of gave me this blank look and hesitated for a few seconds "um do you mean like a book of applications for your own business? Like a restaurant or something?" "No, as in I want to work here and I'm curious if you have an application I could fill out?"
"ooooohh, okay...no you have to apply online, staples.com and click the careers link"
Okay, I thanked her and thought well...weird, no one has applications anymore? Couldn't be! Well after Borders, Kohls, Raleys (they actually had an online Kiosk in the store) Bed Bath and Beyond and Safeway all told me the same thing, I gave up and came home and slipped into shorts and a wifebeater and began applying at all the stores above. It is so hot outside I wish I had known that the blue collar world has caught up with the white collar world and everything is done online now! Does that sound elitist? Wasn't meant to be, so here I am applying like crazy wondering if anyone will actually call me since I have no experience in any of the store categories mentioned above. I shall keep you posted and in the meantime check out this video I saw over at Boy Cultures site...you gotta love Madonna and watching this video brought back a lot of memories from the past two decades. It kind of was ironic when I was feeling a bit out of place and like a relic, I see this video only to confirm it. LOL
peace ;)

Madonna in the UK Hall of fame

I know I'm behind, bu the cool thing is...if you check here, you will find something you missed! I guess this is from 2004, I never heard of it but like I said, I am so behind. It's Mo, remember...before she was Madge? Here is Mo getting inducted into the Rock hall of fame in the UK.
