Madonna vs. Lady Gaga

Am I fan of Lady Gaga? Not really, but I do like her music...even though most of it sounds like Madonna's. I saw this clip tweeted today on Twitter and loved it!

Now before you "kids" start yelling Gaga does so much for gay youth, yes she does. As did Madonna for my generation, and she didn't do it to make her career. So Lady Gaga is not a pioneer in that genre at all. I'm not saying Lady Gaga isn't creative, I'm just saying if it wasn't for Madonna, Lady Gaga may have been your server at IHOP.

So I'll let you decide, here are some videos of both their hits. I think Gaga's sounds like Madonna's.

Madonna - Express Yourself. This video is epic, compared to Born This Way, which pretty much just tries and proves Lady Gaga isn't a man.


Lady Gaga - Born This Way. Now this video wants you to think it's epic, but after the first 3mins you really want to tell her to STFU and sing. I do like the song though.

"Weird Al" Yankovic - Perform This Way

Apparently Gaga wouldn't let him release it. If he had, all proceeds from the song would have went to the Human Rights Campaign. I like her music, but not her, and now I like her even less. Cow. I guess she's all about the HRC when it makes her look good.

And I have no idea why I called her a cow when there are so many other colorful adjectives out there! Anyways, have a good laugh and enjoy! ;) peace

UPDATE: Gaga has approved the parody! I'm sure it's the HRC donations at the end. For the record, Weird Al doesn't have to have her permission. He's just a class act who always ask the artist's permission first. I'm leaving the cow comment.

So Lady Gaga had her song, Born This Way, come out this past week. I like the lyrics, it's kinda catchy. Although, like Alejandro, I hear a bit of Madonna in it. With Alejandro, I hear La Isla Bonita by Madonna in that song. Not going to start a Madonna vs. Gaga war, just saying...there would be no Gaga...with out Madonna. ;) peace

And of course Ryan James Yezak and his version (in my opinion the Original Lady Gaga Telephone) music video. I'm not a fan of drag queens, I'm not a fan of Lady Gaga hell I can barely even stand gay people but this video stood out to me because of the work put into it. It wasn't a parody, a spoof, it was a real music video and I supported it all over the web, I logged onto all the sites that had embedded it and left positive comments on the direction of it. Is a great video from a director's point of view. Well done.

So this video I found over at Boyculture and thought it was hilarious!! It's a parody by Sherry Vine of Lady Gaga's Alejandro, only it's I'm a Homo or...maybe You're a Homo. In either case, it's hella funny and I like it much better than Lady Gaga's original Alejandro video (Madonna wanna be, okay won't go there). Enjoy! ;)

Which Gaga video is better?

I personally like Ryan's better. It just seems sexier, hipper...Lady Gaga's Telephone video seems more cartoonish and I'm sure that's what they were going for but it's the SONG that is great. Her video, not so much...Ryan's video...great! Scroll down for Lady Gaga's official Telephone video and compare and comment on which one you like best. Lady Gaga's video was postponed twice, I think it's because of this video. When Beyonce crunches up the honeybun (or whatever she put in Gaga's mouth) didn't that seem a bit like when Beyonce does the glove thing in Ryan's video?? Just sayin... ;) peace

Not only am I addicted to Telephone by Lady Gaga featuring Beyonce but I can't wait for the "official" video to come out! Not sure if there really needs to be one, these guys did an awesome job and I've watched this video like 50 times already! I'm stuck on the lil blonde hottie with the blue eyes (wearing black vest @:53), he's so fricking adorable! lol I couldn't wait until Sunday to post this, so we'll have a Songs of Tuesday post. Songs of Sunday...

...Bad Romance by Lady Gaga. The song was just okay, until I saw the video and now I love the song!! I feel we just got saturated with Lady Gaga's music in the past year, so I just kinda went...mmmeh, she's got some good hooks to her music and it's catchy. Like I am not a Britney Spears fan but I do like her music, it just kind of gets in your head and stays there but not in a bad way. Especially some of her remixes, they're pretty good. Today starts another week, another week of job searching and for those of you who are fortunate...another week of work. :) Hope everyone has a good week! ;) peace
