Yesterday I was watching the Glee epi where Kurt and Blaine go to their first gay bar. Brought back memories of when I went to mine. I don't do gay bars now, or anything with the gay lifestyle actually. I think some people grow out of it, and for some it's their identity as a person. For me, it's just another part of what makes me, me. In any case, I was 16 and hanging out with some friends at a beach in Alameda. One of my friends brought up the idea of going to a gay bar, and everyone jumped at the idea. I was the one who was nervous and double thinking about it. Well since they were my ride, and I was miles from home, I guess I was going to a gay bar. :)
It was so cliche, we went to The Stud (which is kind of an iconic bar, not sure if it's still around). It was like 4pm on a Sunday afternoon and we were a group of teenagers just coming from the beach, really? Like we weren't going to get in, LOL, I say that jadedly now, but at the time I was terrified. We told the whole lie, that yes we were of age, but we lost our ID's, and we didn't want to drink we just wanted to dance, and all that. Well we didn't want to drink was true, well at least I didn't. I remember I was wearing a half-shirt and cut off Levis, lol, as they say now...daisy dukes (gawd I was gay). Well the bouncer did let us in, but told us not to try and order alcohol, and just gave us the creepiest smile, and lifted up my shirt with the pen he was holding. This was before I had an attitude! LOL I didn't know what to do. Try that today and it's fist and elbows! :)
So we went in and it was dark, there was music bumping, and it gotta kinda quiet when we walked in. I was convinced it was because they knew we were underage and were going to tell on us. We kept to ourselves in the middle of the room, a few of the guys were all cocky and acted liked they went to bars all the time, I tried to avoid looking any one in the eyes. When I finally did feel brave enough to look around, whoa, it seemed all these men were staring at us and I felt on display. Which in retrospect, I guess I was. My friend Kevin HAD to choose the middle of the room to stand, he very much an attention getter. Haha, I admired that about him. The reason this memory always sticks with me, besides being my first gay bar, is because of the guy in the white polo with purple horizontal stripes. I will always remember him.
He was a cute guy, not sure what age, 20 something? Brown hair, blues eyes not quite 6 foot but taller than me. He wore Levi jeans and white tennis shoes, and a white polo with horizontal stripes. He kept looking at me and I was so nervous, but he had a nice smile. I was looking around the bar, not at the guys but just the details of it. The neon sign over the bar, the front door where we walked in, which was still open, the bartender and how flustered he look with his customers. Things like that, well the group had moved a few feet away from me and I hadn't noticed, until the guy in the white polo with purple stripes came up to me and asked me what time it was (ikr?). I clearly wasn't wearing a watch, but I didn't think about that (hello I was 16). I apologized and told him sorry I didn't, and then looked at my friends and did one of those BIG steps where you stretch out your leg and lean back to make the step. Clearly shunning him. I didn't mean to. I was just freaked out! And this is why I will always remember him, when I turned around to look back, he had returned to his friend but he looked so sad, like he just found out his puppy died. He looked at me with those eyes, and I just felt terrible.
We didn't stay too much longer after that, and I kind of moved into the middle of the group so I was kind of hidden. The bouncer came and told us it was time leave, business was picking up. Haha. We had no idea why that meant we had to leave, but we were all so happy to just have made it in.
And that's my first gay bar experience. ;) peace

Random Memory
My best friend, of well over 2 decades, is coming to visit in a couple weeks. He fell in love on Facebook and moved to Boston. Idiot. The love has soured and now he's stuck in the relationship without the means to get out. My "I told you so" was drawn out and to the bone. Don't worry, we're that close where we don't take that stuff seriously. :)
Years ago, we were on a road trip to Vegas. I had just bought Alanis Morisette's Jagged Little Pill and was listening to it over and over. I was the driver the driver gets to choose the music. Well he decided that he had enough of Alanis and ejected the tape. I politely asked him to put it back in the deck to which he said some profanity I will not repeat here. So I uh, sped up, yeah...I mean he has a fear of dying in a car and I wasn't getting my way. He tried to call my bluff but I kept going faster and faster. By this time he is screaming at me to slow down I calmly reply "put the tape back in" he says something like "do you want to be responsible for my death, do you want that on your head". I calmly reply "If God uses me as instrument to take you out...so be it". He just stared at me. He put the tape back in, I slowed down, and we started laughing our asses off! So that became one of our catch phrases to use when we put each others life in danger.
We also have Ford F150, which we use when we disagree on something. This is when the Ford F150 came out all curvy and modern. We both spot it on the road at the same time, he says that's ugly WHILE I'm saying cool truck...we look at each other and go ew! (for disagreeing with each other I guess) and just start laughing. Then there is Chocolate Dougnut, that's when you are taking something that's mine. We had taken a road trip up to Oregon to visit my brother. Small town with limited night life, but we decided to hit one of the local bars anyways since it was a Friday night. We each had a doughnut we picked up on the trip and he decided to eat his. I told him he should wait, because there won't be a lot of options to eat once the bar closes, because it's such a small town. Well he's always been um, fluffy, so he didn't listen to me and ate his before we went out. When we got in that night we sat down facing each other on our beds chatting about the night. I turn around to grab something out of my bag, and when I turn back around he has my doughnut in his mouth! Quicker than I thought I could move, I smack it out of his mouth! His eyes are big as plates, and we both at the same time, turn our heads to look at the wall where the chocolate doughnut had hit. Dead silence. We turn back to face each other and fall back on our beds laughing our asses off! I told him not to eat my doughnut! I don't even like sweets, but the point was that it was mine! I think I ended up letting him eat it anyways. Ya know it being on the floor and all. :)
Or the time we were driving to San Jose, and in the middle of the convo he quits talking, his eyes get big and he just starts pointing. I was driving so I turn to my left and there is this 747 coming right at us. Well on the other side of us was the SJ airport, which he did not know about. I almost drove us off the road laughing so hard!! The time I was talking to him while driving (way before that stupid law) and it was a thunderstorm, and he told me lighting goes through cell phones, so I immediately threw my phone on to the floor of my car! I could hear him laughing all the way up to my seat. Ya know, 4 rubber tires and everything.
My favorite memory of all times, or at least the one that gets me laughing so I can't stop, is when he missed the 2nd to last stair and fell face first into his laundry and went OOMPH! And then he just laid there! LMFAO!! He was like 425lbs at the time, and it was like slow motion. I saw him start to go, but he was carrying a huge load of laundry with no basket, so I figured he'd fall in the clothes. Which he did. It was the delayed oomph and the fact he just didn't move for a couple seconds that had me on the floor! I was trying to ask him if he was okay, but I couldn't get the words out, and he was calling me every name in the book. OMG! I will never forget that oomph! LOL
When he comes back in a couple weeks he wants to go to SF, that's his only drawback. As the years went by I left the gay lifestyle because I didn't really have a lot in common with those who ONLY did gay things. Gay pride, gay bars, gay gay gay. He's only comfortable in a gay setting. So for him, and the 20+ years of friends, I'll nelly it up as best as I can for his vacation. ;) peace

Random Memory.
Have you heard of The Sea of Tranquility? I know it's a spot on the moon or something like that, but I'm talking about the Sea of Tranquility of our dreams. A long time ago, I read in a book that the Sea of Tranquility is where you and someone you love meet in a dream. So technically, you both have the same dream at the same time and that means you met on the Sea of Tranquility. That is your partner in life. Supposedly.
Also, years ago, I went to college in New Mexico near Albuquerque. It was an all Indian college, and it was my first time away from my family, and to say it was scary for me is an understatement. While I was there I met a girl, her name was Monica and she was the prettiest girl on campus. She had a boyfriend though, he lived off campus and he would come pick her up on the weekends. Monica and I got very close, fast. Yes, I was gay but there was something about her that caught my attention. She was sexy and fun, and so self confident. Like me, she didn't want to be another "Native cliche". She was determined to better herself. She was also Apache and she sure had a wild side. We flirted like crazy at first, and then later we would just stay up and talk for hours, often cuddling while we talked. We never "went there" but she was definitely ready if I ever wanted to make my move. Her and her boyfriend broke up and we started seeing each other, to this day I don't know if I'm the reason...they had problems way before I entered the picture. She always said I wasn't, because I kept telling her I didn't want to be the reason.
One Saturday after lunch we went back to our respective dorm rooms to take a nap. The night before, we had stayed up really late just talking and laughing. During my nap I had this dream where she and I were being chased by aliens. We were on the beach and they chased into a cave, they wanted to take her from me and I wouldn't let her go. We found an exit and all of sudden there was a bunch of hay there and it caught on fire and Monica screamed because our exit was blocked. I remember stopping and just looking at her and telling her, it'll be okay, I wasn't going to let them take her. I think finally after more running and dodging I just woke up.
I layed there on the bed and all I could think of was Monica but I couldn't move, the dream was so intense...not the details of what happened but the strength of the emotions I was feeling. Fear, strength, love, anger...so intense. After a few minutes there was a knock on my door, it was Monica. She was crying and I just hugged her, and told her it would be okay. I knew, I just felt it (wow, I'm kinda tearing up right now) that she had the same dream. She started telling me she had this dream and her and I were being chased by aliens, and they were trying to take her, and we found an exit but all of a sudden there was hay there and it caught on fire. After I finally calmed her down, we both described our dreams and they were exactly the same. Even the point where we both woke up was the same.
I told her about the Sea of Tranquility and she just cried. We both kinda knew we wouldn't be together, but now we would ALWAYS have that moment.
I left the school for various reasons a short time later, we did keep in touch for awhile after that. I'm not sure what happened but her tone changed after I left, I tried to be encouraging and supportive but last I heard I think she had eventually dropped out of school, moved back to the rez and had gotten pregnant. Although, I heard that from a girl who had a crush on me while I was there and was jealous of Monica. They were all jealous of Monica though, why she ever picked me I do not know. She remembers the first time she saw, haha. I started the semester late so when they took roll and I said "here", she didn't know who I was. She said remembers looking down the row to where I was sitting and seeing a handsome boy with the saddest, yet kindest eyes and she knew she needed to know me. She also said I looked scared! LOL, I probably did.
Not sure what brought that memory up today, but it's one of my favorites. ;) peace
p.s. I also dated a psycho Eskimo girl while I was there, that b*tch was crazy! But that is for another time.

Random Memory
There was a thunderstorm and a clap of thunder woke me up. My boyfriend at the time was curled up against me and his leg was thrown across my waist. I remember caressing his leg and thinking I couldn't be happier. Another thunderclap came and it shook the apartment and he clung to me tighter. I was so content.

Random Memory
Tonight I actually have a couple random memories and I'm not sure where they came from. Which is why these are random posts. :) First Stoner Joshua didn't show up for class tonight so it was me alone as the new guy in class. Was an easy night, we had a sub and took a quiz I didn't study for but I did read the material so I think I'll still do well on it. Then we got to watch a movie called Freedom Writers which I had seen before but was glad to watch it again.
Apartment sitting for my cousin this weekend (yes high speed downloading!) and on my way here I remembered my first real crush. Not a grade school or high school crush, but my first "real" crush. His name was Paul, he was an assistant manager at the fast food restaurant I worked at. I was 18, he was like 26 and mixed Asian and White and beautiful. He could have modeled, I never understood what he was doing in fast food. He was like 6'3" black hair and eyes and a killer smile. He was quiet and would blush when I flirted with him, although at the time I didn't know it was flirting. He had a wife who was pregnant, I never saw her but I remember resenting her. Hey, I was 18 and this was my first real crush. I remembered one time I cried because I knew he would never be mine, he was so sweet yet strong and sometimes he flirted back. Or did he? Not sure, I was 18.
Second memory I'm pretty sure came to me from a Petsmart commercial about this little girl who picks a kitten and then looks at the rest of litter and asks her dad "what about his brothers and sisters?" and he gets this look like he has to take them all. An ex of mine years ago took me to pick a kitten out because I wanted a pet. I immediately fell in love with two black kittens in cage, they had so much character and played with my fingers through the cage (as I'm sure they would with anyone, but I felt it was because of me). I could only pick one and I couldn't decide, I stood there forever and asked the lady at the pound if they had names and she said no but they had collars with numbers on them and that's how they were identified. I finally said I couldn't pick either one because I wanted both and instead went and looked at some other kittens, but I kept thinking of those two. My ex convinced me to pick one and I did, begrudgingly. He asked me to go wait in the car while he paid for everything and did the paperwork, I sat in the car thinking of my new kitten and what I was going to name it. I looked up as my ex walked out carrying TWO kittens! He had gotten both! LOL When we got home he asked what we should name them and I said 7 and 9, the last number on their collars.
Embrace your random memories, they come to you for a reason. ;) peace

Birthday Blog!
Hello Wonderful people! Since today is my birthday I've decided I'm going to re-post some of my favorite blog posts over the years. Some will be links back to old posts, some pics, vids kind of a Hodgepodge all day blog! ;) Sit back enjoy and accompany me down memory blog lane. ;) peace
Of course my FIRST ever blog post, wow, it's been over 5 years?! Dang. In any case like for the first week I had a couple of friends read my blog and after that, not so much. To this day no family or friends read this, well my bestie does once every 6 months and I think I have a cousin who checks in once a year! lol
I'm originally from South Dakota but basically grew up in Cali starting in my teen years. Yeah took me a moment to get used to the freaky weather back there!
My mouse email! LMAO!
So dramatic, was I. I had moved to Fresno, CA with a friend of mine who lived in a trailer out in the country.
When I decided I was a shallow person from California. :)
I actually used to blog about stuff going on in my life, but the last few years have been pretty boring and I figured out how to upload photos. Yeah, blog took a big change after that! lol
Ah, when I broke myself. Not good!
Anyways, just a few of my fave blog posts that I wrote from South Dakota and when this blog was very young. Hope they don't bore you too much! Now, some of my fave pics and vids...coming up!

Random Memory
I've been to jail, yes, yes I have...a couple of times. Nothing serious, don't freak out, but I have been to jail. Well I remember one time (that sounds so bad, lol) but they weighed me and um, the one thing that stands out in my memory of that whole night, was the fact that I had put on weight. LOL yes, I was dumbfounded, I was like wth? Really? I weigh how much?! Hmmm...not sure why that memory came back to me today but it did, so I had to share. ;) peace

Random Memory
So my mom and I were talking tonight about how when she was growing up. She's from the rez (Native American reservation to the middle class white folk) and we were talking about mice. Hello she had a dirt floor so she knows a thing or two about mice. I, on the other hand, haven't really had that much exposure to living with rodents. Which made me think of this blog post I did quite awhile back and I felt the need to repost it. Animal lovers, you will be upset, people who want to live rodent free. I won. ;) peace

So this is how I started my day today. First of all let me preface by explaining that we do have a mouse. I've seen him, he's tiny but he's still...a mouse. Centuries ago man and mouse lived together in harmony but those days are gone. I want him killed, dead, gone! At night when I sit on the computer and listen to the Olympics on the TV behind me, I hear him. He's in the kitchen, he's in the pantry, he knocks things over and he's getting too bold. So I tell my roomie Sandy and she puts out some cheap sticky traps and is certain we are going to catch him, we even have old poison around and he'll eat that. I think he just ice skated on the sticky traps, we don't catch him and he's still disturbing my late night web surfing. He's a smart sucker. So I wake up yesterday and go turn on the tv and sit on the couch and I hear some rustling amidst some diaper packages next to the entertainment center, then OUT speeds this little gray thing, he heads over to the wall and through kitchen and into the back of the stove. I was dumbfounded. I did NOT just see a mouse. Oh NO HE DINNNIT! So when my heart beat comes back to an acceptable level, I call my mom and she's like, you have to kill him, you have to get rid of him...he'll breed, they'll be more...they'll be in your room. Nuff said. I call my roomie on lunch and she's just like oh, well ok, we'll have to get some more traps and blah blah blah. Sandy is not realizing the severity of this situation. I am still in shock of sharing a dwelling with a rodent. I'm still in shock of seeing him run through the living room. I must take matters into my own city boy hands.
So I hit Wal-Mart after work and I buy poison, snap traps and sticky pads that look like you can tow a truck with them, just stick 'em on your bumper. I'm going to get this mouse! We set up the traps (the kids had great fun helping me with the snap traps) and the kitchen is armed, it's dangerous...it's soon to be...the killing field.
I didn't hear him last night, he's waiting, he knows...he's planning his next move. I sit, I wait...I'm waiting to hear the snap trap, a shriek when he gets stuck...at least him knocking something over but I hear nothing...it's quiet on the Killing field tonight.
So I stumble out of bed this morning and walk into the kitchen and stop short, there he is, he's on the sticky trap right next to the oven. I knew I'd get him, I knew it, but it's early and I didn't want to touch it, ugh! So I went back to bed. When I got up later he had moved to the other side of the sticky trap and I thought, he's going to get out if he keeps that up. So I called my momma and she told me I had to either kill him or put it in a plastic
bag so he would suffocate and I didn't want to do either and my mom was like you have to and I was like NO! and she was like yes! and I was like NO and she was like yes! and I was like NO and she was like YES! aaahhhh!!
So...I picked up the trap with the mouse on it with salad tongs, and the
mouse started shrieking and I started screaming and my mom was like,
just do it!! I almost peed. So I put him in a ziplock bag and threw him in the garbage can out back. Hell of way to start my day I tell you.
So now we should have no more mouse problems, I hope he was the only one because I really don't think I can do that every morning before breakfast. So that's the latest from the country, I hope you are all well...and mouse free.

Random Memory...first crushes.
Remember growing up and knowing you were "different"? Well I never had an issue with being different, or tried to fight it or anything like that. I came out when I was 13 and not much later I came out to parents. I was lucky, they still loved me no matter what and so did my friends and family, so all good. I do remember being sooo attracted to the men below...do you see a theme going on here?:) So here is to first crushes. ;) peace
Jon Erik Hexum, it was sad when he died. I was just a young teenager but I remember even then thinking, what a waste.

Gregory Harrison, hello those eyes and that chest...'nuff said.

Erik Estrada, I know George Lopez does not like Erik Estrada but I don't know why. Being a minority and seeing a minority on TV and a HOT minority at that was intriguing. Oh and no, I am not Mexican, hello read the blog title. :)

and of course...sexy ass Sam Elliott! Really, do I need to explain the attraction here...that voice, that chest. I was a teen hormone fountain at the time! He still one of my faves.

Random Memory
Did you ever clean up garbage after a dog? I'm cleaning my brother's kitchen (his fridge was disgusting) and I took the garbage out but the can was full. So I double knotted the bag and set it to the side of the can and thought, I hope a dog doesn't come along and tear it open. When I was a kid I don't know how many times me and my brother had to do that. We'd wake up and you'd hear our parents "Leonard Todd, Bill, get out there and clean the garbage up...a dog got into it". We would always grumble because we didn't understand why WE had to clean it up, stupid dogs. Hmmm...I remember those times quite vividly. More later, gotta make dinner! ;) peace

Random Memory
Were you popular in high school? I was, well at least until we moved to Manteca, CA and then I was more of an elitist. Can't associate with these people, but me being me I did make some good friends, good friends who came to my house quite a bit. My brother also made friends and he had 3 who stick it out in my mind. Granted my friends called them the nerd herd, lol, but they were really cool. You had Lorin who was a brainiac and is now a surgeon, you had Mark who my mom adored and then you had Erik. Erik was the hottest (hello gay blog you know I have to inject hotness in here). Erik drove a maroon BWW and always wore a baseball cap. I never really paid them any attention because...well, they were the nerd herd and and my brothers friends. What I do remember if I force my self to think back, was that Mark had nice eyes, Lorin had the hottest car (I think it was a 66 mustang)and Erik had the best legs! My readers know I'm about legs. Well, turns out, Erik is now a famous comedian! He has a website http://www.erikmackenroth.com/ AND Erik Mackenroth is part of a show called LA Talk Radio! The most surprising thing? I can't believe how deep his voice got! LOL ;) peace

Random memory of the day...
I remember when I graduated high school my friend had a graduation party that weekend. It was a great time, saying goodbye to people and meeting new people from the other highschool in town. I didn't drink at the time but I ended up crashing on the floor with everyone else and I kind of slept in a weird position. I would sleep on my back with one ankle crossed over and my arms crossed across my chess. Yes, kind of like a vampire in his coffin. I remember waking up and using the bathroom and then getting back in "position" to go back to sleep and my two friends walked in the living room and were talking about how weird I slept and one of them said "he sleeps like a vampire". So to freak them out I snapped open my eyes and raised to a sitting position with my arms still crossed! LOL...they were a lil bit freaked. Not sure why I was thinking of that on the way to work this morning...
